LIUGONG's Unmanned Asphalt Layer Compaction Technology

Recently, LIUGONG's intelligent machine group consisting of an unmanned paver 512E, two unmanned double steel wheel rollers 6213E and two unmanned tire rollers 6530E has realized the fully automatic paving and compaction of asphalt pavement at the construction site of S422 Provincial Road in Nanjing, Jiangsu. This is the first time that LIUGONG has applied unmanned asphalt layer compaction technology to highway construction, marking a milestone for LIUGONG's road machinery in the field of intelligent construction.

LIUGONG's unmanned compaction machine group integrates core technologies such as Beidou high-precision positioning, intelligent perception, automatic control and cluster collaboration. It adjusts the equipment path in real time through self-developed algorithms, eliminates human operation errors, and ensures uniform thickness of the paving layer and tight joints. The unmanned paver and roller group interact with data in real time through the Internet of Things, automatically planning the optimal number of rolling times, speed and overlap width, and realizing seamless connection of the entire process of "paving-initial compaction-re-compaction-final compaction". The equipment is equipped with an intelligent obstacle avoidance system and a remote monitoring platform, which can adapt to complex working conditions such as high temperature and nighttime, significantly improving construction efficiency while reducing manpower input.

This S422 provincial road project is not the first appearance of LIUGONG's unmanned driving technology. Previously, the technology has been rigorously tested in many national projects.
