Things You Must Know About Basic Crane Maintenance
Truck cranes (cranes) have the characteristics of both engineering machinery and road machinery. Due to their complexity, only good daily maintenance and upkeep can extend the service life of the equipment, reduce the failure rate, and improve the reliability and economy of the equipment. However, many users in the industry, even old users with many years of experience, do not pay enough attention to this, which not only causes the equipment failure rate to increase, increases the total maintenance cost, but also reduces the equipment attendance rate, and even delays the construction period, causing certain economic losses. loss.
The crane is a large mechanical equipment with a complex structure and many device combinations. The maintenance and repair of the crane requires different maintenance and repair projects based on the characteristics of each part.
1. Hoist motor and hoist reducer
Routine inspection: Visually inspect the sealing of the reducer, abnormal noise of the equipment, check the tightness of the fastening screws and bolts, and the braking performance of the brake.
Regular maintenance: New vehicles should change the oil once every 150 hours of operation. Remove the oil plug below to drain the oil. Replace the lubricating oil every 1,000 operating hours or one year thereafter.
2. Slewing bearing
Bolt pre-tightening time schedule: Under normal working conditions, the bolt pre-tightening force of a new vehicle should be checked once every 100 hours of operation. The pre-tightening force size is based on the use and maintenance instructions of each product; thereafter, it should be checked every 500 hours, and sufficient pre-tightening force must be maintained. Tight force. Replace bolts every 7 years or 14,000 operating hours.
Slewing bearing lubrication: Generally add 3# calcium-based grease and lubricate the raceway once every 100 hours of operation. When adding grease, the slewing bearing must be rotated slowly for at least two weeks.
If the slewing bearing is not maintained in time, it will cause inflexible rotation, damaged raceways, elastic deformation, and loose and broken mounting bolts.
3. Hydraulic system
Routine inspection: Check whether all components and pipeline connections are leaking or loose, whether hoses are aging or cracked, whether the hydraulic oil is clean, and whether the oil level in the fuel tank is clean.
Regular maintenance: When a new car works for 200 hours, the hydraulic oil needs to be filtered. After that, it needs to be filtered or replaced every 6 months, and the filter element must be replaced at the same time. Hydraulic oil should not be used for more than 24 months. After 24 months, it cannot be used even if it has been filtered; whenever the hydraulic oil is found to be seriously contaminated, it should be filtered or replaced in time; different brands of hydraulic oil cannot be mixed.
4. Electrical system
Daily inspection: Check whether various instruments, lights, and speakers are normal; whether the wiring harness connections are loose, detached, or worn; the appearance of the battery, the amount of electrolyte, and the tightening status of the terminals.
Regular inspection: Check whether the torque limiter and weighing instrument can work normally, whether the accuracy meets the requirements, whether the height limit device and overload protection device work normally.
5. Wire rope, cable, pulley, slider
Routine inspections: the tension of the wire rope, whether there are any broken wires, looseness, twisting, bruises and severe corrosion, the wear of the boom slider, whether the pulleys are damaged or stuck.
Regular maintenance: When users use the crane, the length of the rope or cable will change due to the force exerted on the boom during operation. The boom should be inspected and adjusted every month. If it is found that the expansion and contraction are out of sync or there is jitter, it should be adjusted in time, and the operation can only be carried out after the phenomenon is eliminated. Otherwise, the rope or cable may fall off and break, causing serious consequences.
