LIUGONG Delivers Thousands of Equipment to Help Ghana's Infrastructure
On July 31, local time, LIUGONG delivered a batch of equipment to the Ghanaian government to support the Sustainable Rural Road Network Maintenance Project (hereinafter referred to as the DRIP Project) in the local economic development plan. The Ghanaian government held a grand project launch ceremony at the Independence Square in Accra. Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Ghana Li Yaohong, representatives of various departments of the Ghanaian government, Zeng Guangan, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman and CEO of the Joint-Stock Company, and Luo Guobing, Senior Vice President, and other leaders attended the event. About 3,000 people witnessed this moment on the scene.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of Ghana, said: "Ghana is in a critical period of rapid development. To achieve economic take-off, the key issue of infrastructure construction must be solved first. The government's purchase of 1,000 LIUGONG equipment this time has far-reaching significance for improving transportation conditions in rural areas of our country and improving local people's livelihood." Zeng Guangan said: "LIUGONG's development in Africa began in the 1990s when China's foreign aid projects first entered this continent. Today, LIUGONG has more than 30,000 equipment in Africa. In addition, LIUGONG is also committed to public welfare and socially sustainable development. Last year, we launched the Green Alliance Initiative to support public welfare projects in Africa. This year, our project started in South Africa and plans to promote it in other countries, aiming to provide local residents with clean water and lay the foundation for the health and sustainable life of the African people." LIUGONG provided 1,000 full-range construction machinery equipment for the DRIP project. This equipment will be distributed to 261 counties in Ghana to help local economic and social development. In addition, LIUGONG has set up a call center and parts warehouse in Ghana, and established 16 regional service centers across the country to provide 7×24 hours of professional service. These service centers will respond quickly to customer needs and ensure efficient operation of equipment. LIUGONG also plans to cooperate with local universities to cultivate professional talents in engineering machinery and further promote localized operations in Africa.
On the day before the event, Zeng Guangan, Luo Guobing and other LIUGONG senior leaders were also received by Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on LIUGONG's business development in Ghana and looked forward to the bright prospects of future cooperation. This meeting further consolidated the close cooperation between LIUGONG and the Ghanaian government.
In the future, LIUGONG will continue to increase its investment in the African market, set up subsidiaries and offices in core countries, deepen relations with local partners, build a complete distribution network, and contribute more to promoting Africa's modernization process.
This delivery received focus and coverage from thousands of global media such as the Wall Street Journal and Guangming Online. During the event, Zeng Guangan also accepted on-site interviews from Xinhua News Agency and local Ghanaian media.
